Welcome to Good Food and Treasured Memories!
With even higher food prices predicted for 2016, successfully navigating the impact of this recession will take some serious measures to keep ‘Life in Balance’.
Recently, my thoughts have gone back to my childhood days when the budget was tight and somehow my mother always found ways to make good wholesome meals with very little to work with. I have always been grateful for those examples in ‘life skills’ that were passed on to me.
Throughout my blog I would like to share some stories and reflections as well as some ‘comfort food’ recipes from my mother’s precious little file boxes. With so many tragedies happening in our world today, I thought you may enjoy to take a few moments out of your busy day to read some of these treasured memories.
There is a deep connection between comfort foods and the memories of home. Many comfort foods evoke an intimate memory, or fond emotion brought about by the aroma and taste of a food.
My blog is a tribute to my parents, for instilling in my siblings and I, traditional values and giving us the life skills to be the best we could be.
